How we check a business
We check the places a customer can find your business, then write down what we see and what we would fix first. The notes describe what we checked and what we could not check.
What we check
- Start with the business facts. Compare the business name, address, contact details and service area across the website and public listings. If a business is not eligible for a Google Business Profile, record that.
- Read the website on a phone. Check whether services, towns and contact details are clear. Test the contact links.
- Check the customer view. Use the trade, job and area the way a customer would. Check which business facts and sources appear.
- Separate facts from guesses. Link observations to the check that found them. Mark an inference as an inference. Put the changes we would make first into plain written notes.
